UConn Soccer Clinic hosted by the Granby Rovers
June 2, 2012
Rovers Soccer Fields, Salmon Brook Park
9:00 am - 10:30 am
The Granby Rovers invite all youth soccer players ages 8-14 to join us for a special, free soccer skills clinic led by coaches and players from the national powerhouse UConn Men's Soccer Team. This clinic for players will take place on Saturday, June 2nd from 9 - 10:30AM at the Rovers Soccer Fields at Salmon Brook Park. Known for their possession-oriented style of play, the UConn Huskies will focus on developing players' ball skills. The Rovers are proud to host this free clinic which is open to all boys and girls ages 8-14 (you do not need to be a Rovers player to attend). At the end of the training session, the UConn coaches and players will sign autographs.
The first 50 players to register will receive a special gift! Players can register by email prior to the event (please send an email to Rovers Coaching Director
with the player's name, age, and contact email), or on the day of the event. Players should bring their own ball, wear shin guards, bring a water bottle and plan to arrive at 8:45AM (all player’s parents must sign a waiver prior to participating).
Join us for what promises to be a great morning of soccer learning and lots of fun right here in Granby!

Granby Rovers Fall 2012/2013 Registration Open!
Register Now
The Granby Rovers Soccer Club is pleased to announce that its registration is open for the Fall 2012 season. A common question that we are asked is “Who should try out for Rovers?” Travel soccer is for the committed soccer player who is looking for more of a challenge in order to continue to grow as a soccer player. They should have soccer skills and ability, but also a strong interest in playing soccer and learning more about the game. We have put together a “Travel Soccer Q &A” to provide some additional insight into our program; it can be found at the following link Click here
The Travel soccer program begins at the “U9” level, which, for most players, is third grade. In some instances based on birth date, second graders are “age appropriate” to start at the U9 level and remain with that team throughout their Rovers experience. In other instances, second graders are invited to participate on a U9 team when enrollment levels require the additional player(s) for team formation. For these reasons, children who will be in second grade during the upcoming season are allowed to register for Rovers, but this does not guarantee that they will be invited to play. The following outlines the age requirements for the Fall 2012/Sprint 2013 seasons:
· U9: Born between 8/1/03 & 7/31/04 or born after 7/31/04 & currently in 2rd grade
· U10: Born between 8/1/02 & 7/31/03 or born after 7/31/03 & currently in 3rd grade
· U11: Born between 8/1/01 & 7/31/02 or born after 7/31/02 & currently in 4th grade
· U12: Born between 8/1/00 & 7/31/01 or born after 7/31/01 & currently in 5th grade
· U13: Born between 8/1/99 & 7/31/00 or born after 7/31/00 & currently in 6th grade
· U14: Born between 8/1/98 & 7/31/99 or born after 7/31/99 & currently in 7th grade
